How do I register and book sessions?
You will need to complete an application form showing sessions that you require. We will check that we have the available sessions and confirm this by letter or email to you. We will also send you a registration form which will need to be completed before your child’s first session.
“Do I need to pay a registration fee?”
Yes, a one off payment fee of £25 per child.
“How do I make payment?”
We invoice parents monthly, in advance, during term time and separately for the Holiday Club. We accept payment via Childcare Vouchers and Bacs payments.
“Do you accept childcare vouchers?”
Yes we do.
“What are your staffing ratios?”
At least one member of staff for every 8 children in KS1 as per Ofsted rules. Sufficient additional staff to cover the needs of KS2 children.
“Is there a minimum number of sessions that have to be booked?”
The only requirement is a minimum of one session per week.
“Do I have to re register every year?”
No, unless we are told otherwise we will carry your booking forward into the next school year until the end of Year 6.
“Can I use Brough Eagles for occasional and emergency use only?”
Yes, we will always try and accommodate your extra and emergency bookings but if we are full, unfortunately we will have to refuse your request.
“Do I pay for holidays and bank holidays?”
You will only pay during school holidays if your child attends the Holiday Club. If you take an absence during term time for any reason then you will be charged. You are not charged for Bank Holidays.
“What happens if my child is sick and unable to attend that particular day?”
Please inform the Club as soon as possible especially if the sickness starts during the school day. You will be charged if your child is absent through sickness. However if this is a long term illness please contact us to discuss the situation and we will look at alternative payment arrangements to ensure that your child keeps their place with us.
“What if I am late collecting my child?”
Please let us know as soon as possible if you are going to be delayed. We will obviously look after your child until your arrival but you will be charged £5.25 per child for every 15 minute period that you are late. This is to cover the extra staff costs incurred.
“Can someone else collect my child if I am unable to do so?”
We will only release your child to a person that you have named in your registration form. In case of emergency we operate a password system.
“Do you accept children from other schools?”
We only accept children from schools other than Brough, for the Holiday Club, not term time.
“What is your policy for administering medicines?”
We will administer medicines when needed. We will only do so if we have your written authority covering your child’s needs. You must provide the required medication.
“My child has a food allergy – how would you deal with this?”
We need to be made aware of the situation and the necessary paperwork completed. We need to be given epipens and other necessary medication. All staff are trained to use epipens and will be made aware of your child’s needs. Please ask to see our Food and Drink Policy for complete information.
“Is there provision for outdoor activities?”
Yes there are lots of opportunities for outdoor play. It is actively encouraged.
“What happens if my child wants to attend an after school club at school?”
Please inform us when you know which club your child is attending. KS2 children make their own way to us after the activity. The club organiser will walk the KS1 children round to the club if you have made them aware that your child needs to come to us. Tea will be saved for them.
“What happens if my child is on a school trip for the day?”
Please inform us in advance. We are happy to ensure that your child is at their classroom or coach at the appropriate time. We will meet KS1 children from the coach between 3.30 -5.45pm. If informed by yourselves KS2 class teachers will be happy to allow these children to walk over to Brough Eagles.
“Is there a quiet area for my child to do homework in?”
Yes, we can make provision for your child to complete their homework in a quieter area of the Club.
“When does breakfast finish?”
It finishes at 8.15am during term time and 9am during the holidays.
“How far in advance do I book the holiday club?”
Bookings are accepted on a first come, first served basis. All bookings are only accepted on receipt of the completed booking form with full payment.
