Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum
The Early Years Foundation Stage has been revised by the government and came into force in September 2021. We are working with the Development Matters Non-Statutory curriculum guidance.
The government wanted to improve the outcomes for our children, especially in Communication and Language. It was also to help reduce the workload for practitioners by using their extensive knowledge of child development and your children so they can spend more time with them, following their interests and extending their learning.

Moreover, we really want your child to love coming to playgroup. So we have included some activities (for a small fee) to enhance their learning, whilst keeping it fun and interesting for your little ones.
Activities include:
- Kidslingo FrenchTastic @ £3.00 per session
Languages don’t have to be dull! We encourage your child to practice their ooo-la-la and their bonjour all within the safe environment of our playgroup. Children can work together to repeat words, sound of new numbers through games and sing in French. Oui Oui!
- Dance Fit with Leanne @ £3.00 a session
We do encourage your children to shake to the music and bop to the beat (and maybe a little bit of yoga too!) with this fun interactive session with Leanne. If you’ve got the moves, we want to see them!
- Celebrations
We celebrate all different festivals and religions, you’ll catch us dressing up for World Book Day, hosting our Christmas Play or celebrating Diwali. We want to encourage your children to learn as much as possible about the world around them and these events just make it all the more fun!
On top of these fantastic, special activities you can also expect arts and crafts, story telling, messy mud kitchens in our outdoor play area, fun science experiments and much more! Did we mention we sometimes go for Fish and Chips? (as if you needed another reason to join us…)
