As the new term kicks off, we’re thrilled to embark on a journey of fun-filled learning and creativity with your little ones! Here’s a sneak peek into the exciting activities and themes we have planned for the next few weeks. Each week is packed with opportunities for exploration, imagination, and discovery.
Week 1: All About Me
- Tuesday, 3rd September: Our new term begins with a focus on getting to know each other. We’ll be settling in our new starters and doing some baseline assessments to understand each child’s starting point. The theme for this week is “All About Me,” where children will explore their identities through various activities.

- Friday, 6th September: We’ll celebrate National Read a Book Day by diving into some of our favorite stories. This is a great opportunity to foster a love for reading from an early age.
Week 2: Teddy Bear Day
- Monday, 9th September: Teddy Bear Day! The children are invited to bring their favorite teddy bear to school. We’ll have a teddy bear picnic and share stories about our cuddly friends.

- We’ll continue our “All About Me” theme and help our new starters feel at home.
Week 3: Under the Sea
- Monday, 16th September: We dive into the magical world of the ocean with our “Under the Sea” theme. The children will explore sea life through stories, art, and sensory play.

- We’ll be painting self-portraits and creating beautiful seahorse pictures. Our storytime will feature the popular books Tiddler and Shark in the Park.
Week 4: Under the Sea Continued
- Monday, 23rd September: Our underwater adventure continues as we explore more about the fascinating creatures that live in the sea.

- The children will finish their self-portraits and participate in other creative art activities related to our theme.
Week 5: Exploring Space
- Monday, 30th September: Blast off into space! This week, we’ll celebrate National Space Week and take the children on an adventure through the stars.

- Our storytime will feature Roaring Rockets and Whatever Next. We’ll also be making our very own rockets using different shapes, encouraging the children to combine their creativity with their understanding of geometry.
Week 6: Space Adventures
- Monday, 7th October: Our space theme continues as we delve deeper into the mysteries of the universe.
- Colour of the Week: Orange
- Shape of the Week: Star
- The children will create rockets from kitchen rolls and engage in various space-themed activities that spark their imagination.
Week 7: Halloween Fun
- Monday, 14th October: Spooky season is upon us! This week, we’ll prepare for Halloween with themed crafts and activities.

- We’ll enjoy Halloween stories like Spookyrumpus and What’s in the Witch’s Kitchen and get creative with Halloween crafts (details to be confirmed).
Week 8: Halloween Celebrations
- Monday, 21st October: The Halloween festivities continue with a week-long dress-up party. The children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes every day!
